In short
You may use LowPolyCrate assets in as many personal and commercial projects as you like: games, apps, films, animations, renders, prototypes and client work. You may change them however you want. You may not sell, share or give away the asset files themselves, whether or not they have been modified.
No credit is required, though we always appreciate it.
1. Who this license is between
This license is an agreement between LowPolyCrate ("we", "us") and the person or organisation that obtained the asset from the LowPolyCrate website ("you"). It applies to every asset and pack on the site, paid or free, unless the product page names a different license.
If you obtain an asset for an organisation, the organisation is the licensee and everyone working for it may use the asset in the organisation's projects.
2. What you may do
- Use the assets in unlimited projects, personal or commercial, for as long as you like. A purchase is a one-time payment, not a subscription.
- Sell or give away the projects you make with the assets, such as games, apps, videos, renders, printed images, 3D-printed models and merchandise.
- Modify the assets in any way: recolour, re-mesh, combine, cut apart, rig, animate or convert them to another format.
- Use them in client work. You may deliver a project that contains the assets to a client. The client may use that project but does not receive a license to reuse the assets on their own.
- Show them in screenshots, trailers, portfolios, store pages, devlogs and social media.
3. What you may not do
- Redistribute the asset files, original or modified, on their own or in a collection, whether paid or free. This includes asset stores, marketplaces, file-sharing sites, public repositories and template projects whose main value is the assets.
- Sublicense the assets, or claim that you created them.
- Use them in a product whose purpose is to let others extract or reuse the assets, such as a level editor, modding kit or scene builder that exposes the raw files to its users. Shipping assets inside a compiled or packaged game, including one that supports mods, is fine.
- Include them in datasets used to train machine-learning models that generate 3D models, images or other assets.
- Sell them as NFTs or other tokens whose main value is the asset itself.
- Use them in content that is illegal, or in trademarks and logos (because others may use the same assets).
When an asset has to be included as a file in your product, such as an exported game, keep it inside the product's data in a form that is not offered to users as a separate download.
4. Free assets
Free assets come under the same license as paid ones. "Free" means free of charge, not free to redistribute.
5. Plans and updates
However you got an asset (free, through a Lifetime or Pro plan, or by an earlier purchase), every file you download stays licensed to you under this license, even if your plan later ends. The only exception is a refund (section 6).
When we improve an asset you have access to, the new version is available in your account at no cost. Older versions you already downloaded stay licensed to you.
6. Refunds and ending the license
If a purchase or a plan is fully refunded, the license for what it gave you ends, and download access is removed. You must stop using the assets in any new work. Projects you published before the refund may stay as they are.
If you break this license, it ends automatically. If you fix the problem within 30 days of hearing about it from us, it is restored.
7. No warranty
The assets are provided "as is". We test them carefully, but we cannot promise they suit every engine, pipeline or purpose. Our total liability for an asset is limited to the amount you paid for it.
8. Questions
If you are unsure whether a use is allowed, write to us through the support page before you go ahead. We will answer plainly.
